Default Alpine CDA 9847 Help!!

To those who own HU Alpine CDa 9847, yours help is appreciated, my kenwood HU just breaks down after almost 2 years, so i decided to spend my money on something that would last me long and cheap. So i decided to go for the Alpine CDa 9847, but the thing is: it says remote control is optional? so does that mean that it doesn't come with it or do i have to buy it separately? because i checked it on Crutchfield.com, they don't offer the remote control with it,!! how would you be able to use it w/o the remote control, special with all the jumping back and forth to look for the mp3 that you like!!!

You can always use the control that is on the face h:

But it states that it is Remote Control Ready...meaning you can use a remote with the unit. You are probably going to have to buy it from Alpine. Or find out which model remote works and find it on ebay.

My 9853 came with a remote but it requires an optional hub, (sort of like a wireless reciever I guess), which you have to buy from apline.

Most Alpine Head Units will work with all the remotes, if you don't need any outside module to receive the signal. Check on the units faceplate and if there is a tiny black "window" it's most likely you could go with a 4186 or 4187.

$40 for the remote? I would rather spend a bit more and move to the next unit up.

I kept the remote from my CDA9807 to use in my 9847 but it doesn't seem to work. The batteries could be dead but I doubt it. Alpine sells remotes that should work just fine.
