Default need your 0.02

im not sure which amp kit to get. The 4 gauge or 8 gauge. My amp is 1100 peak power i heard the 4 gauge kit is good for systems over 1000 watts. i need people's 2 cents. Also what wires do i use to connect the sub with the amp? the sub came with out any wiring, the only wires i have that are used for the sub are the ones connecting the sub to the box, the box has two plugs on the exterior so im assuming thats what i plug the amp into right? Will the amp come with the wires for it or will the amp kit come with them?

You can get amp kits that include EVERYTHING. What is the model of the amp. Judging the amps real power needs from its peak power numbers is not that realible. But yea, 15-20ft of 4 gauge for 1000 watts of continous power is about right.

Dont forget to include the length of the power wire when picking the gauge size. And speaker wires are used to connect the sub to the amp.

Wire is wire. The difference in them is the quality of the jacket and the strands of wire. Better ones will have a slicker coating so you can install them easier and will be more flexible. But since this is only going from the amp to the sub, just get 3ft of 12 gauge speaker wire and youre good to go on that end.

As for the amp...post it again :happysad:

You should be fine with 8 gauge. But if you can afford 4 gauge, that wouldnt hurt either. It will be a lot easier if you ever decide to get a bigger amp or add a 2nd one.

well looks like i'll be ordering this one

http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...re=&catid=5748

has every thing 20ft 4gauge, 3ft 4 gauge for grounding, 12 ft speaker wire, and everythin else. 20 bucks aint bad not to mention i live in NYC and i get it in 1 day

as for installing all my stuff should i go prefessional cuz i dont have much experience with this... it seems pretty easy and all but i dont wanna fuck it up... i have the extra money to spend on installation so i think i would prolly be better off doing that
