Default Remote Start

I know this might be a really dumb question but Im getting a Viper alarm system installed this week adn was debating getting either the base alarm or getting a pager system. I like the pager b/c I can keep people from stealing the crap out of my car but the major option of the pager system is the remote start. I have a 97 Civic DX manual and the manufacturer said that the remote start was only intended for automatic cars. Does this mean that it's impossible to get this feature with a Manual transmission or just not recommended?

its not recommended and no reputable place would do it becuz once u park ur car and leave it in 1st or R, the car will go once u remote start. However, it is possible to do it on manual, u just have to find someone that's willing to do it.

Would it be worth it, in anyone's opinion, to get the paging system anyways even though I couldnt really use the remote start function?

my 5spd integra has a remote start installed.. although it stopped working recently
have this small company's system called lynx with a safety feature for manual cars.. just make sure you leave it in neutral when you park! i really liked the feature - was great for warming up the car from the house.. or if i knew it would be hot out, I would leave the a/c on and when it remote started, it would start cooling the inside down.. i've heard its not good to start the car with any electronics running but I do it anyways..
