Default Alpine's new Glide Touch

What are your thoughts on it?

Yeah!!

or

Neah...

I'm thinking about getting a 9855 but I'm unsure about the Glide Touch. I like the 9835, but they are getting hard to find. The internal amp is not important as I have a four channel to handle all the speakers.

I dont like it. I would much rather have feedback with the stuff I am pressing...like buttons. Witht he glide stuff, you dont know if you are doing it right until you look at the screen. Not very good, IMO, when you are driving. At least with buttons, you get a feedback.

The rest of the deck is nice though. Although the menus take a long while to get use to. Those 2 are the reasons why I picked a Premier deck over the 9855.

Same here. I was not impressed with it. I like everything about the deck except for the touch glide. I was leaning towards Eclipse because of this but they are a Sirius only company. I prefer XM.

Features I'm looking for:
XM
AM
FM
CD
MP3
High quality pre-outs
Reliability
Multiline display
Something not Sony or Pioneer

I <3 my 7894. It's in my wife's car right now and I'm contemplating taking it out if I can't find a deck I like. :rick: Then I would stick her with a cheap Alpine. Ideally, I would like to find a new Alpine 9835 somewhere. I love that deck the most but I'm having a hard time finding one at a reasonable price. I found a couple but they want $450 for them. Come on people, they are over a year old.
