Alpine's new Glide Touch
The Alpine CDA-9815 is badass. I had it and swapped it out for a CDA-7998. The 7998 is badass as well, but it doesn't do some things that the 9815 can do. I'm mostly talking about visual things, the 9815's two line display is really nice. I guess I like the 7998's Fantom Face more than the 9815's two line display. I should have kept my 9815 just in case the 7998's motorized face craps out on me.
I have the 9855. This radio is not for people who don't have patience. Learning comes in 2 phases with this unit,
1. How to work the glide touch
2. How to acutally use the radio
Both are very difficult tasks. You can tweak and tune just about anything you could ever imagine ... trying to get to the right menu might be a problem.
