Default Question about speakers???

I used to have a subwoofer but the amp fucked up and I dont feel like spending the money to get a new one. I also need to get my speakers replaced on my 99 Civic so I just just looking to get speakers that have some bass. Which ones would you reccomend? I was thinking about getting these: What do you think  or

Front:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pione...oductDetail.do

It says it has rich natural sounds.

Rear:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pione...oductDetail.do

It says they have powerful bass tones.

I dont really want to spend alot of money on speakers.

Doubt you are going to get much improvement replacing the speakers without adding an amp to them. I've actually had better results adding an amplifier to stock speakers than having aftermarket speakers running off the head unit.

I have the 350w 6x9 3-way Sony Xplods, they put out some really nice bass, I don't even have an amp to them. They also have 400w 4-way Xplods, they probably are better than mine, I don't know. Mine get really loud without getting distorted also. You might try those

Gotta love the way Sony labels their speakers... 350W

Those Pioneers aren't too shabby, but I'd personally opt for Infinity Reference for that price range.

6.5's and 6x9's

I've got a new Pioneer DEH-4700MP which I love (Wal-Mart=$168.00+tax), which is currently running only basic Pioneer 2-way 6x9's and minor upgraded door speakers. Heard great things, and read good stuff, so I'll DEFINITELY be buying Infinity Reference 6903i 6x9 3-ways and building hatch box for them myself. Also plan to get Kenwood KAC-8402 60wx4, or Sony XM-4060GTX 60x4 amp to run front/rear w/o sub. I'm looking for strong, rich, clean, crisp, and LOUD sound, w/o too much thump, or rattle. I could live with what I've got, but I'll stay with what I get, then....on to better security mods!

HEY TEGDUDE

Any luck with your car project. I just got the Infinity 9603i speakers installed but not too sure that i am getting enough power from my sony explod head unit.....i am thinking of getting an amp also but no sub like you.

I am trying to decide b/w MTX thunder and Rockford F.

Haven't finished project yet, but I wasn't planning sub in system. Just 6x9's in rear, and the 5 1/2's in front, with amp on all. Will put my Infinity's in pair of 6x9 solo boxes until I finish larger, dual box. I'm also trying to figure out what best arrangement will be for possible amp mount. There's not enough room under seats, and the rear floor board is too easy to steal. I'm thinking about creating false side in the rear of hatch area, with vertical mounting bracket, or building up the rear hatch floor, possibly incorporating the spare well somehow. Have plan for plexiglass amp case, with built in fans, which won't be very expensive. Then it can be housed, covered, and appreciated when desirable. Not sure yet. You like the sound of the Infinity 6x9's?

Installed my new Infinity Ref. 6903i 6X9's in place of the older 6X9 Pioneer 3-ways, and the difference is very much improved. I'm getting better frequency response across the the big 3 with much stronger, cleaner lows and highs. I've just got each mounted in own 6X9 box. I'd definitely would suggest for anyone wanting great 6X9's.
