Wiring.

See if the speaker wires are actually getting any signal. I think you can use a test light for that.

I do not have a test light, isn't it a pretty sure thing that the wires aren't getting power, I know it's not the speaker.

Well, you can test it in 2 places...at the terminal and at the head unit. If the terminal is not getting power, test the head unit. If the head unit is not getting power....uhoh.

If the head unit is indeed sending out power, then you know it is the wire itself and not a head unit problem. Of course this is assuming you checked all the settings on the head unit to make sure sound is going to ALL the speakers.

Again, i do not have a test light, so I was thinking connecting the left front (speaker that doesn't work) speaker wires to the right front speaker to see if it is the head unit or the wiring, this would work correct?

Well, if you do that.

If the speaker plays. You know that it is your LF speaker that is blown.

If the speaker does NOT play. You know that the wiring or HU that is bad. Which leaves you at square one again. Test lights are cheap h:

If the right speaker plays couldn't it still be the wiring to the left front, my brand new polk speaker didn't work when I connected it to the LF in the door.

When I'm saying I might try to connect the right speaker to LF output, I'm talking about out of the HU, not from the door.

I don't think my speaker is blown, but you never know...

Oh ok. Sorry I didnt catch that.

If you are going to hook up the good working speaker directly into the HU's wiring, then yes, you are correct. Just do it before the harness if you want to see if it is a HU problem. If it works, then do it after the harness. If it works still, then you can tell it is the wiring between the harness and the door.

Good luck.

A more effective thing to do is swap speakers, not connections. Then you will know exactly if it is a wiring or a speaker problem.
