ok i got 2 12 alpine type e's and some rather little swiss audio amp. i previously had 2 12 jl audio w0's and had no problems with my system but when i switched the subs i cant turn it up too loud or my amp will go into some protection mode. any suggestions?

sounds like the subs are too low of an ohm load and when you turn it up the amp is going into protect mode

Post the exact model of the amp and sub. And also how you got the subs wired together and how the amp and subs are wired together.

Those subwoofers are 4 OHM SVC. The amp's spec is: 75 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms stereo...12O watts x 2 @ 2 ohms stereo...150 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms mono.

If you are bridging the amp, and wiring the subs in //, the amp is seeing a 2 OHM load mono. That is too low for the amp. You will have to unbridge it, and put 1 sub per channel.

An Alpine Type E sub takes 50-250 watts RMS. How much are you looking to spend.
