Default 99 Accord speaker replacement

Can anyone help, I'm replacing the speakers both front (6.5) and rear (6x9) in my 99 Accord Coupe. I've read that there are issues with the depth of the speakers. Does anyone know what speakers will fit properly (especially in the front). I'm not using an amp so Im looking for something that will provide a descent amount of base with an amp. I've already replaced the stereo with the Kenwood X789.

Thanks.

The fitment of the speaker (i.e. depth) all depends on what speaker you choose. Crutchfield.com shows different speakers, different depths, and what will fit in your car (i.e. plug and play). However, if you find a speaker that you like, but it is too "deep", you can very easily make a spacer out of MDF and it should fit no problem. So, in other words, you can make nearly all speakers (within reason) fit, without much work at all.

I had looked at Crutchfield and they list only 2 speakers that will fit in the front and neither of them seem very good. I'd imagine there has to be other speakers that will fit without much effort.

it was very difficult finding speakers that fit the front. i went with a midlevel pioneer and barely made it.

Just make the spacer...........it is very simple, doesn't take long, and will allow you a MUCH wider variety/assortment of speakers that will fit.

you can't make a spacer for the front. the entire interior door panel will not fit if you get the wrong speaker. you only have so much space between the mounting space and the inner metal door.

I wasn't thinking about a huge spacer, something more along the lines of 1/2" or 5/8" or maybe 3/4". If it won't work, I appologize, but I was under the impression that the Accord door was similar to mine (99 Teg Sedan), in which I made a spacer and had plenty of clearance for the back of the door and the window (clearance). However, I did need to sand (round) out some of the edges of the spacer to make sure the door panel fit back on correctly.
