for the front 6.5s?

 

bump? are the 01's depth different the the 00's (because there's a huge thread on here about it). if so, then my shit is out of luck...i don't really want to cut the rain guard up, might just go for the shallow mount refs, instead of the ones i already have, regular 2-1/4...can anyone confirm?

 

i always cut those out ( rain bafel ) i do this a living and if you try to put a speaker that will fit in there it will have to be like a very low end model like an entry level pioneer or kenwood. An eclipse speaker will fit but if you are looking for a good speaker cut it and dont worry if you indeed did get a good speaker it should be a polly or plastic back and rain will only matter after many years and then it will just discolor.

pulled the door panels off, and got the factory speakers out (which were glued/clipped to the door panel). seems like the 2 1/4-deep 6002i should fit with no problem with sah6 adapter, because it's about the same size as the factory mounting. i'm planning on drilling it straight to the panel, maybe with some rubber insulation to liquidate the vibrations...window, when rolled down, comes no where near the magnet...not sure what the fuss is all about?

 

If you look on crutchfield, they show speakers for our model Civic that are 2" deep or less. It's not nearly as deep as I would've preferred. My eDs require 3 1/4" so the rubber surround clears and I don't physically see any way possible for me to get them in the doors.

If I did manage to make a mount for them, I would more than likely have to do some trimming on the door panel so the speaker cleared the plastic. Last thing I want is for the rubber surround to get pinched in there.

If anyone else has mounted deep speakers in an 01+ Civic door, I'd love to know how.

I'm kick panel shopping, trying to find the best price out there. If anyone has a hook-up, PLEASE pass the info along to me I would be forever indebted to you. The bonus to doing kickpanels is that I won't have to make any holes in the door panels or A pillar covers to mount the tweeters.
