i need some guidance wiring up my current system. as of right now my sysytem is working but my wiring could use a little help. i was wondering if anyone new the proper size fuses i should be using. as of now im runnin a jl 300/4 and a jl 500/1 amp. im currnetly using a 4ga power and ground set up.
my question is what size fuse should i have at the battery terminal and once i get a fused dist. block, what size fuses should i have going into the amps. anyone with electrical knowlege help me out? thanx

Both the 300/4 and 500/1 have fuses built inside, 40a and 60a respectively. Because there is a decrease in wire size from the distro-block to the amps, you should fuse it again. If those two amps are the only things getting power from the 4ga line...then put a 100a fuse near the battery.

you should always fuse when you decrease wire size - this is to protect the wire between the block and the amplifiers....

:werd: take it from an electrician
rather replace a 5 dollar fuse then have to rewire you're entire car
the fuse should be rated like 5-10 amps less than what the wire can take just for cautions sake

i believe you should have a fuses in your distro box unless your using a ground distro box.
