Default amp remote turn on

I'm putting my old amp/sub from my old car into this one, 93 integra.

Where's a good place to have the remote turn on connected?

In my old car I put the remote turn on wire onto one side of the fuse for the passenger side window. I choose that spot so that the amp would be sure to turn off when the key was off/out. However, that took some power from the window and caused it to go very slow.

I'd like to avoid that same situation if possible, suggestions?

Cig lighter is a great idea... I never use that thing.

Now how about a switch, inline with the turn on lead? For some manual control over the turning on and off of the amp. Good idea? Bad idea?

Are you using an aftermarket deck?

Yes, but call me lazy... I don't feel like trying to pry that deck out of there AND pull off all the electrical tape from the wire harness just to get to one wire. I never wired that in because when I first got the HU I didn't have an amp.

I decided to put a lead into one side of the fuse for the sunroof. Sunroof doesn't turn on until the key is in the ACC posisition, PLUS I installed a (great looking I might add thank you very much) switch on the passenger side of the center console next to the shifter.

It's all in and working great.

I'm so proud of myself, cause I actually wired the switch to a fuse that is only +12vDC when the key is in and in ACC or the car is running. So if the key is just in ON or OFF or out completely, the switch and amp are useless.

It's so simple... yet effective. And since the sub is RIGHT behind the passenger seat, my gf appreciates the switch more than anyone.
