I have the oportunity to get 2 12in MTX Thunder 4000 (T4124A) subs or 2 12in Polk Audio GXR124 Subs for $99.99. Which brand is better? The max on the MTX is a little higher than the polk audio. Which would be the best and also what amp would be the best to power these subs that's in the $200.00 price range

Some amps i had in mind are the bazooka EL2100, Kenwood KAC729S, and the Sony XM2150GSX. Would any of these work well?

For the subs, I would get the MTX, simply because they are just all-around better.

For the amp, I would not get the Bazooka since they are rated higher than they really are. I do not know much about the Sony amps but I know several people on this boad do not like them. I have a Kenwood amp and have never had a problem with it, so I would recommend the Kenwood amp.

I am just going by brand names and what I know of them, not any specs since I have not looked them up - you happen to know the specs of the amps?

i never tried those amps or subs before. the only MTX sub i really hear about a lot are the 8000s and that RFL sub.

i never hear of polk subs a lot either.

maybe someone else can comment on them better.

as for the amp, check out the JBL PowerValve Series. they are cheap and solid.
