Default building a custom enclosure for amp...

I'm thinking of building an enclosure around my amp so it looks like its flush to the side of my trunk and to hide the wires. I'm just wondering what kind of material you would use to do that? is there anywhere i could buy the same kind of carpeted panneling thats in my trunk (whats that called anyways?)? What do you guys use??

car audio places do sell carpeting that is the same color as most trunks. you can use something like .5 mdf.

.75 is pretty thick, and they can get pretty heavy. i mean i chose .5 because its only holding up an amp.

0.5" mdf for building the rack, and 1/4" or even 1/8" for trimming it up...anything else is overkill, a pain in the ass to work with, and heavy IMO

I am gonna try usin cardboard to make the shape, and then use the extra 3/4" mdf i have or some plywood, but I think 1/2" would be best.
