ported or sealed is not up for discussion, it's gonna be ported!

Can anyone post the specs on the IDQ12 vs. the JL Audio 12W6? I think both would need to be dual 2ohm models as they allow for more options when powering them since most amps are rated at 4ohms mono. TIA

Default Well, the JL 12w6 isn't an option now

I just found out the the 12w6 only comes in dual 4ohm configuration. I was really set on getting a dual 2ohm sub since I only want to run a single sub setup, ensuring that my choice on amps is not limited. I see plenty more amps that are rated to 4ohms mono than 2ohms mono. It's looking more and more like it's gonna be the IDQv2.2 sub that I'll be going with.

Well, just to let you know, a v.2 max are only running around $150-$175 used now, and they work really well off of little power. Just wanted to try and complicate things even more.

well, the w6 is officially eliminated. I talked to my boy who has a pair of them in his Towncar and he said they costed like $400 each. Not only that, but they only come in dual 4ohm configuration. So it's gonna be the IDQ fo sheezy!

You will be very pleased with the IDQ, just make sure you get your box designed correctly and it will sound great.

I am thinking about getting a Phoenix Gold Octane R 9.0.5 amp to push my system, it's 125x4 @4 ohms stereo AND 400x1 @2 ohms mono. I want to get a custom box and have it ported into the cabin of my car for maximum effect. Now I gotta start shopping around for a good box builder and get some quotes.
