Default 1 vs. 2 subs with same power?

Hey guys, I was wondering what kind of a differnce it will make if i go down to 1 sub instead of 2 because I cant deal with no trunk anymore. Thanks

It's not a big deal the only thing you will hurt is the deep deep deep bass.

Two subs produce more displaced air. Therefore the singe sub will not feel as "punchy" as the two together. You will still have the same amount of power, but it will sound and feel a little different.

actually you will probably lose power (if you keep the same amp) because the ohm load on the amp will be 'lessened' i.e. you go from 2 ohms to 4 ohms, you lose 1/2 power (theoretically)... and if you go from 2 to 1 subs, you will lose 2-3db.

you are looking at a considerable loss. I doubled up my cone area and got a bit more power and a new box and gained about 4-5db.
