6 ohm subs are cool , but u would need 3 to get a good ohm rating for an amp

true, for most amps. but amps like JL and JBL PowerValve will give the same power @2OHM and @1OHM.

not neccessarily
JBL may be able to perform at 1 ohm even though its stable at 2 ohm, its not the same as JL impedence technology.

besides who wants a 1 ohm stable amp@ 1000 watts for example, and have it run a sub at 6 ohms? you'll only pull so litle out of that amp

ops.h:

i mean you didnt need 3. like the w6, dual6OHM, you can wire them in // and // again, for a 1.5 OHM. which would utilize the JL and JBL amp to the fullest.

my bad for not making it clear.

wow, it's a nice setup, anyways, can u please give me links to find those online???

oh yea, i've emailed Crutchfield, and they recommended Rockford Fosgate Punch 700X for the sub because it'll put more power, and they told me to go with the Inf. Kappa perfect, or JL12w3, not the w6.

thanks for helping me out, i'm a newbie at these stuff and want a decent system. Also, i've heard someone recommended the TV + the DVD head alone. that way would save more money. if so, can u please list the recommended?

poohboi ,
thats a lot of money.you can get an awesome system for that.
you have to know your needs - do you want soundquality or SPL(loudness)
do you want mp3 or just a CD receiver or both.
ill recommend some brands and it is up to you to decide.
also think about the install to run you 1/3 of the budget if you cant install it yourself.

headunit - nakamichi CD45z sor awesome SQ ($300)
or other alpine decks ($300-$350)

component sets - rainbow pro, focals ,image dynamics chameleon)

amps for components - arc audio

subs - IDmax , ADS , IDQ ,

sub amp - zapco , arc audio ,
