Ghetto install need help!

Default Ghetto install need help!

i have a 2001 integra ls and i was to lazy to go out and buy the harness so i cut the wires ,my sony headunit a ca710x ive looked up diagrams for my head untis harness and it says there is no orange illumination wire and ive hooked the yellow constant form the sony to the acura's blue/white constant and the red ignition acc to the acuras yellow/red ign acc but the only way the head unti will work is if i have the acuras illum red/black hooked to constant and the headlights have to be on can someone help please explain what im doing wrong ive installed 2 radios like this one in a corolla and one in a kia they worked fine but i seem to have run into a prob thanx to anyone who can help

it's doing that b/c it's getting power from the headlights. when you turn the headlights on, you're giving the headunit acc power. you've got the acc or the constant hooked up wrong. just save yourself the headache and buy the wiring harness

finnaly got it fixed it turns out the constant wire had no power so after checking around i found that the backup radio fuse under the hood had blown so i hooked it up and it works fine now thanx for the reply
