96-98 civic vs 99-00 factory alarm

96-98 civic vs 99-00 factory alarm
The 96-98 needs factory radio for alarm system. But 99-00 doesn't need the factory radio. I have a 96 LX I'm getting my friends factory alarm from his 2000 civic. Anyone know how the installation would be different? Handa-accessories.com have instructions for 99-00, but not 96-98.
