Default weird cd player probelm

hey i have this panasonic head unit, i believe the number is something like 402u, but anyways when i put a cd in, it tries to read it for about 5 second and then spits it out. this happens 90% of hte time, the other 10% i can successfully play it. when i put it in and close the face, it triest ot spit it back out and then it comes up as ERROR 3 i think. any ideas how to fix this, im tired of putting the cds in and out 30 times to get it to recognize.

Try using a CD lens cleaner.

If that doesn't help, chances are, the headunit is done.

Are you using CD-R's?

That was going to be my question. Are the cd's that are being spit out CD-R's? That 402 unit is either last year or the year before I think and it may not be cd-r compatible. Other than that you may need to have it cleaned or realigned. Have you tried resetting the cd player? Check for a reset button or just unplug it for about 15 seconds and plug it back in. Just some things to try.
