One thing that does worry me is the way the electrical, signal, and data lines are run for the HVAC/TUNER/CD CHANGER. More and more with the advent of multi function switches (switches that do 5 different commands) the wiring is multiplex data/power/signal. So one second a single wire in the car carries +12v, the next second its ground, then it carries +5v data. All on the same line. Rendering any aftermarket stereo useless and impossible. Just look at BMW. What you see in the dashboard is just a control module and a cd player. The actual tuner and amp is in the trunk. Looks like the '03 Accord might have the same electrical engineering and blueprint.

the cdplayer and temp controls are integrated... see the auto climate stuff? i think it'll be almost impossible unless honda comes with a separate kit.
or just take out the A/C like some of you seem to like todo to 'save weight'

I actually like the lines of the stock stereo/dash. If I were to build a system out of that, I would just slap one of those expensive PG line out converters behind the stock stereo and go from there. I can't see how any aftermarket CD player could look good in there.

I suppose the best way is to add amps and speakers but keep the HU. I guess we'll have to wait for the official release (not too long, though) . I'm just curious to see if anyone comes up with a kit and conversion for this car. I know it's impossible on BMW's later models, and from what I've read, Honda has the aim to the Bavarians as far as engineering and design of the the interior.

Theres word of a factory installed MP3 player going into that lill cubbie under the HVAC. So maybe you can mount a head unit there with some brackets. I dunno, stock one looks good to me.

I am thinking about adding aftermarket CD player in the space below the stock head unit. I think the space is for storage of CDs. I like the cover very much because we can put down and hide the expensive CD player and push up to show off to friends. I don't know how to remove the head unit yet. I want to remove it so I can get to the radio and use the power accessory to turn on some Amps

Just to let everyone know...there is an aux in adaptor available for this vehicle so you can hookup for example video while keeping the stock hu. It interfaces where the changer plug is.
