Default Kenwood compatability

If anyone has any expertise in Kenwood's, I could really use your help right now. I have the Z910DVD deck along with the LZ700 monitor (which is currently not installed). I'm hesitant to install because of the required modification to make it fit (look stock) in my 93 Civic coupe.

I found someone that is selling the KVT911, but he's selling only the deck itself. The "brain" of the 911 has been damaged due to flooding inside the car. My question is, would the KVT911 deck work with the "brain" that I have? Basically instead of just having a deck that is capable of playing DVD's (the Z910) I could get the deck that could also display it in an all in one deck/monitor (the KVT911). If anyone can confirm this compatibility, this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Look on ebay to find the lower audio console. Mount the monitor you have in there and mount the deck you have in the stock location. I say make what you have work. If you got a unit with a flip-out monitor, it'll be in the way of the climate controls.

I don't really mind it being in the way of the climate controls. I'd rather have it in an all inclusive unit because I have other plans with the lower audio console (I already have it ).

ok, i see... just in my opinion it would be ghetto having the climate controls blocked... i prefer NOT to have things like that sticking out of my dash. Thats me though... I also like the "all-in-one" designs... just not crazy about the monitor poking out of the dash.

What are your plans for the lower console if I may ask?

Yeah, I know what you mean, but it's not like I'm messing with the climate controls every five minutes or so... I was planning on putting my blitz gauges in that lower console, but I guess I'm gonna have to rethink the whole thing and put my existing monitor there. I just found out that the wiring that I do have now, would not work with the KVT911. Oh well... Thanks for the help though.
