Default Aftermarket Speakers Blowing

I just want to know how many times if any has your aftermarket speakers blown? Do you know what could be causing the speakers to blow?

Kind of O.T. This is a question for anyone who has a sub or subs. What volume do you have it at when you are listening at a normal volume? and what volume when you have the sub pumping?

I'd say its because the speakers are underpowered and you are cranking up the volume too much. Distortion blows speakers.

Again, you need to figure this out for yourself. It's different for everyone and everyone has totally different stuff from you (meaning that their controls, settings, etc... are all different).

What volume do you consider to be too much?

Distortion does not blow speakers - only two things blow speakers:

1. Driving a speaker past it's mechanical limits
2. Overheating the coil

And I've never (knock on wood) blown a speaker in my life...

How does the coil get overheated?

Too much power...clipping can cause the coil to not be cooled properly too.
