HID Question
What cars come stock with HIDs? Whats the advantages between different HID bulbs, Ballasts? There are H4, D2S (i think i got this right), and other ones. What does it all mean? Does it show different brightnesses? Is there any advantages to having different HIDs over others?

Most of the newer Acura's come with stock HID's. A ballast is needed to supply the constant electrical power for the HID bulb. H4 is the bulb used for 96+ Civics and D2S is a particular HID bulb. HID's are gonna be much brighter than non-HID lights. Advantage of HID s light output, but it comes at an additional cost (for cars without it). HID's are also classified by temperature color: 4100K (slight to no yellow tint, so mostly white), 5000K (bluish tint), 6000K (purplish tint). The 5000k and 6000k offer no more light than the 4100K. IMO, they just look cooler :naughty:...

i was going to go get HID's but didn't know which one to get. I just want a better vision at night is all. Color doesn't really matter. So I guess i'm goin 4100K. All I need is the ballast, lights, bulb adaptor wire, and thats it correct? Besides JDM ITR's, and TL's, what other models have HID? Or cars for that matter? Do you happen to know? Thanks man

The only other Acura here that has HID's are the RL's and most likely the NSX. As for other cars, well most of the BMW's, Mercedes Benz's, Lexus, and other luxury cr companies have them as standard equipment. I know Nissan has them on the newer Altima's and Maxima's too.
