Default Is this a no-no?

Hey all -

Recently acquired two GNX-104 Polk Audio 400watt max subs.. put em in a dual 10" box.

Well, apparently - when these two 4ohm subs are bridged, they turn in to 2ohm. I'm reading in my amp manual that briding subs will overheat and eventually ruin the amp if the load is anything less than 4ohms. Then, I'm seeing that it can handle a 2ohm load...

I'm really confused - here are the links to the products I have.

I'd be greatly appreciative of anyone who could tell me what I could do at this point short of buying another amp - stuck with the box.. stuck wtih the other sub too. Bummer..

SUBS: http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.js...2&catoid=-8871

Thanks

you're fine... two 4 ohm subs wired in parallel will give a 2 ohm load... that amp can handle it.

technically, your not "bridging" your subs... you are just wiring them together yielding a 2 ohm load.

therefore, your 2 subs will act as 1 load, and since that amp is a mono amp... at 2 ohms it will split the 450 watts to the 2 subs.
