Default Problem with 5th gear!

Hey everyone, I have a 1994 accord ex. I'm having problems shifting to 5th gear. It only happens when I shift from 3500 rpm and up. If I shift before 3500 rpm, it shifts fine. The problem is when I reach for instance 4000 rpm, and I shift from 4th to 5th, i feel this grinding noise coming from the shifter, i'm not sure what it is. I don't have problems shifting on any other gears. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks!

Yep...sounds like a synchronizer...shift at lower RPM's to prolong your tranny's life...

How long since you changed the trans oil? This may help significantly.

I just got the transmission oil changed last month. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? Or should I just shift at lower rpms all the time? Does that mean that I can't really downshift that much anymore? Thanks for your advise.

what did they use for oil?? use honda MTF, Redline MTF, or try GM synchromesh

btw,the 5th gear grind is common on accord and lude trannies.
