oil leak, balance shaft seal question.
hey, this morning my 96 lx started leaking oil like crazy. I had some guy look at it, and he told me that the balance shaft seal needs to be replaced. Do you guys know how much it would cost to replace it. And if I could do it myself? Thanks alot!

yeah its a recall for 5thgen accords.. but all recalls for 94-97 ended jan 2003.
Mine broke about a year and a half ago and the honda dealership fixed it for free.
You can still try and see if the dealership will still fix it for free but I doubt it.

mine went out while i was driving... lost most of the oil in the car. got it fixed.. was too late to have honda pay for it cuz i bought the car used a couple weeks ago. now theres a strange knocking coming from the engine compartment at around 1800-2100 RPM.. anyone think this has somehting to do with timing? i just changed all the bearings in my engine after the balancershaft seal prob.
