95 accord rotors, pain
I spent around 4 hours trying to get the front rotors off my 95 accord ex coupe and finally figured out the only way they were going to come off was to pull out the axle which I did not want to get into. I know these rotors are pressed on and most likely will need a dealer machine to pull them and have the bearings replaced no matter what. But this is going to cost me around 600 bucks just for the front rotors from the dealer. Does anyone know of any national company line or any company in the virginia or west virginia area that will cheaply replace the front rotors or have a press machine to do it with. Does anyone know if the rear rotors can be easily replaced or if they too are pressed on? 600 bucks to replace front rotors, bearings, and brake pads is just crazy. Can anyone give me some help!
yeh...5th gen accord front rotors are pressed on. You need to rent an "axle puller" from ur local autozone to pull them off. I never tried it with m y accord, but someone else did it successfully. Do a search for the thread.

the front rotors on a 2001 accord are 10 times easier to change, as the rotor goes over the hub, instead of the hub going over the rotor on the 5th gens. (96-97 may also have the rotor over hub design, not sure)
A CL brake swap (from a 1st generation Acura CL) would be the replacement of the hubs and rotors on the front, so that you'd have the rotor over hub setup... however, thats probably the last thing you want to worry about if you just want new brakes and not have to sell human body parts to afford it.
Autozone does rent out tools to get the job done right and easy... what you want is a "Hub Puller"... tell them what you're doing and they'll give you the right tool.
Another hard part of 5th gen front brakes are the 4 bolts that hold the rotor to the hub, those tend to be VERY difficult to remove... BEFORE you go trying to pull hubs, shafts or anything else... try to remove those 4 bolts... worst comes to worse, you'll have to use a chisel and hammer to turn the bolts (if you round off the heads) or drill the bolts out and just get new ones.
Remember, Heat is your friend if used properly... have a good torch handy... heat AROUND the bolts to expand the surrounding steel, making them much easier to remove!
The rear brakes on a 95 are MUCH easier than the front, they are a rotor over hub design... the rotor being held in place by 2 philips screws, which are not essential, so if you break them or have to drill them its not a problem, as when you mount the wheel, that holds the rotor in its place.

I took my rotor assemblies to a machine shop and had them swap the rotors for me. They pressed the bearings out of the old rotors and pressed them in the new rotors. Cost me $20 to do both rotors. Much better than $600

Now this is all under the assumation that your bearings are good and they do not need to replace them.

I don't know what you are talking about it cost body parts to do the CL conversion cause the CL hubs cost all of 30 bucks each from www.acuraautomotiveparts.com and then all you need to get is some rotors for the 98-99 CL 2.3 or the 98+ accord 4cyl and the brake pads for a 94-97 Accord 4 cyl so instead of just buying pads and rotors for teh accord now you have another 60 bucks in hubs that to me is not body parts.

You seem to be really up on brakes... I need brakes really bad on the front of my car... was thinking about going with accord wagon parts. (rotors, calipers & pads) How do you think this would improve my braking? What pads should I go with? Gonna be getting the parts at advance auto, was thinking of the carbon-metalic pads they sell... that'll help my braking too i'm assuming?
