Default gotta stop this...

...its brake time, want an upgrade. Looking to just do other honda/acura parts, but larger. Thinking of accord wagon brakes... or 3.0 CL brakes... anyone know if they're the same or not? Anyone know the diameter of each rotor?

Also, gonna try for some carbon-metalic pads... any certain ones to look for? what are the + & - compared to normal pads?

I want better braking, for not much more money.

how much you looking to spend? I just got some brembo blanks(4 disc), and some AEM pads(front and rear) for just around $270 if I remember correctly. I'm installing them this weekend.(with some help from a friend)

11" for either. but 98-99 3.0 CL brakes are a rotor over hub variety. 97 3.0 CL brakes exactly like the wagon, hub over rotor design... I'm not exactly sure if the thicknesses varied between the CL or wagon... wagon for 5th gens were 25mm thick (and 4th i believe). 98-99 3.0 CL were 23mm thick.

I just have to ask, dont mena to steal your thread...

I hear people talking about this, how can you use bigger rotors with stock calipers, doesnt seem like it would work, or add any benefit, since your still making the same contact patch with the disk...

it might w/ the correct brackets, but i'm not sure if the stock calipers will bolt to the brackets for the bigger rotors...

but if they do, locating the caliper farther out does increase the brake torque a little bit... its the idea behind AEM's big brake kit, put it farther out, so there is more swept area. But you might as well pickup a set of loaded rebuilt calipers for around $100 off any honda/acura that uses 11" rotors. you get the brackets, pads, and rebuilt calipers.

I'm getting the whole deal... new calipers, rotors & pads... so if I go with wagon rotors, i'll be upgrading to wagon calipers too. Seeing how the wagon and sedan use the same knuckle, the mounting bolt locations for the caliper bracket are in the same place.

USC- does that large rotor kit require larger wheels? Would I be able to use it with my 15" oe wheels? How big are the rotors? how much? used or new?

ooh, yeah, will need at least 16" wheels. 17" to be safer.
