Default Just Got My Front Lip!!!

I actually had it for a couple of days now, its civic type r lip for honda accord. Anyway im just wondering if i still have to sand the lip then paint it or i could just paint it right away.

My car is dark green i know theres a color code on the door, but im just wondering if i can buy a spray paint at a dealer, or just go to a local store like kragen or pepbiys to get a spray paint. does the dealer even sell spray paint or just paint in a can?

so anyone that did this let me know, thanks.

For the people in the bay area that had them painted from a shop, how much did it cost you to paint the lip and if its cheap enough i'll probably have the stock moldings and rear painted also. any local cheap store that you guys recommend?

good shit mang:thumbup: Now got get some pics of that thing, I know you have a camera cause you had us waiting for you while you went home to get it:d Yeah man, you have to sand it, prime it then paint it. You may be able to find some spray paint that matches ur car at ur local auto part store. You need to look in the book next to the paint, find the year, make and model of ur car in there and it'll tell you the color code and the corresponding part# of the paint you need. I would recommend you get some bulldog adhesive promoter too so the primer/paint sticks good.

If I were you and spent an ass load of money on a Type-R lip (dunno how much you really spent) then I'd have it painted professionally. They can match the paint better than most spray paints from a store. And might I say...excellent color choice I love dark green cars.

considering that the only type r lips for accords are replicas, I think it would be safe to assume he didn't spend an assload of money on it. In anycase, having it professionally done will of course be the best way to go, but if money is an issue, you can do just as good a job urself for a 1/4 of the $$$. It just depends on how tight ur pockets are.

if you have a dark green 5th gen, you can buy sheerwood green in a spray can at pepboys. (the dealer doesnt sell spray paint). it shouldnt cost you more than $200 to get all your lips painted. i do the fitting myself, and the removal and installation to save $$. just have it fitted before you paint cuz those cheap ass lips never fit perfectly

I would suggest getting it professionally done. I think it will just look better and it is easier, plus...they can mold it into the bumper :naughty: . Getting everything painted together would be a good idea too, I got mine done while getting my bumper fixed. You can look at my page to get an idea of how it'll look

It isnt too hard to paint if you do decide to paint it. Im From San Francisco and there are a couple of shops out here that sell auto paint (DU Pont). The thing is that u have to have either a paint gun or an Airbrush. If u wanted more info, PM me and ill let u know.
