i finally put the new lip on and just like everybody said the sh!t does'nt perfectly fit. i had to bend the ends a little. its kinda hard to do especially if your working by yourself but it fits. no extra holes to drill. the only thing i hate is the two bottom ends kinda flares out, but its still ok, coz i just got the lip from ebay.

anyway i went to pepboys and bought some spraypaint and the guy recommended for me to get the Varsity fast drying primer and he said i dont have to sand the lip if i use this primer(on the can it said, non-sanding..fights rust..recoat
anytime..wood/metal..interior/exterior) and i tried it on my old stock lip that i took off, primed it twice and spray painted it twice. its dry already and i tried rubbing it with my fingers and the paint stays (the color looks nice by the way) but when i tried rubbing it with my finger nails the sh!t comes off, so im assuming that i really have to sand it first before i paint it. oh yeah the spray paint that i got is Plasti-kote import color it looks like the color of my car.

so, my question is what/which kind of sand paper do you guys recommend and what grit of course and do i have to spray paint with a clear coat after for added protection?

sorry for the long post but im starting tomorrow morning. thanks boys and girls.

NEVER USE CLEAR IN A CAN. It just screws up your precious work afterwards. use the stuff that comes in the pint like Transtar or Du Pont. Like i said, u have to use a airbrush or paint gun but its the only way to go. plus the stuff in the can doesnt harden properly so youll never get the protection you would compaired to OEM paint. Oh and the Sandpaper, always start with a 600 or finer grit. anything heavier will show in the Base coast and refect the metalizers. So just 600 the whole thing(wet) then 800, then 1000. Itll be a btich to do but itll be ass smooth as a babys BEhind when ure done.

just take it over to fremont to scotty's body shop and he will paint everything for you for like $150.00. He does good work. Wont take long to do it.

The front lip is going to get hit with rocks, etc. You want a paint that can take the abuse. Auto paint is better than the stuff out of a can.
