The way I see it.... you aren't dead. you can still eat! Lots of people turn into veggies after a car wreck! thank God you aren't hurt and weren't in the car.

Keep in mind you still owed 4XXX on the car, so the insurance will pay that off and give you 1500 bucks. Go buy something else and loose that pissed off feeling fast.

My best friend got married in April 1999. In may 1999 his new wife's brother and his sister where in a car wreck! His wife's brother's eyeballs were knocked out of his head he was hit so hard from the side. His sister woke up bleeding in the brain with a cracked skull all over her lap. After seveal drillings in the head and a month later she got out of intensive care.

Did your airbags deploy? And you should sue the insurance company of the girl for personal property loss.:thumbup:

 

same thing happened to my car when i rearended someone. instead of letting the insurance company take it, we bought it back from them through salvage retention and repaired it with a little money to spare. i wouldn't advise this if the frame is bent, but mine was fine and the airbags didn't even go off. the only bad thing is that it now has a re-built title and prolly will be worth crap if i wreck it again or want to sell it.

The car is really bad though, it isnt worth the hassle to even repair it in my view. I think the frame was bent though.

I am gonna get me a car this weekend before my rental runs out on monday.

I just gotta suck it up and take it!

Dd i mention that the car was hit 4 times previous to this tiime? Yeh....so its good to get rid of a "wreck magnet".

So, this fifth time was in the SAME spot on the car that the previous 4 were. Sad huh?

This weekend when i get my new car, i'll take pics of it and i'll develope the film so i'll have pics of both my cars and the wrecked one.

Thanx guys for all the support and advice/opinions. Hopefully people who have their cars wrecked can look at this thread for some knowledge.

I didnt have the 18's on it when it got wrecked. It had 5th gen V6 alloys on it. I dont care about them anymore since there would have been only 3 good whels, the front right one was bent!

Your insurance company should give you the value of whats the cars worth (if you have full coverage) if its totaled. With what they give you buy used parts and fix it yourself if there isnt major damage I know you dont want to get rid of the car. This happend to me except i was rear ended by some idiot lady with no insurance. She hit me from a dead stop and sent me into a car infront. So we were going to have her sign a contract that says shes going to give us a sertain amount of money till she pays off the damage. If she misses a payment we sue..........of course my parents didnt make her sign the contract so we got stuck fixing the car.

I did all the work, besides paint. Total cost was $590 with paint
I needed hood, rear bumper, and front bumper. Most of the paint cost was the hood. Its a custom black pearl
Even if the damage is really bad just try and fix it the best you can

 

thanx for the advise, but once you see the pics i'll show you next week, you'll agree that this car is unrepairable, and if so, MUCHO $$.

It was hit so hard that the frame that encloses the engine bay was bent. I wouldnt even know where to begin to fiix it. The passenger front suspension(and wheel) is pushed back so far that the glove box doesnt close right now. It was a hard hit!

YES! I want to keep the car, it's like breaking up with a girlfriend and you dont want to. I was totally surprised that it felt that way, because i know exactly how that feels.

Maybe i'm being too "materialistic", but thats how i felt about my car. It was my first car, and i owned it for two years. Put COUNTLESS hours into maintenance and babying it. Now its all gone to waste. The car only had 100k on it! Only 1/3 of its life had been completed.
