Default Battery Exploded

I am driving 98 Honda Accord. This morning, right after turning the key in the ignition, a big loud "BANG" from the hood area, next thing I know is the battery explosion .

My car just had its 60K service in less than two weeks when this happens.

Anyone experienced this before?

It is the Genuine Honda battery.

The acid was also leaking everywhere after the explosion. Anyone know how to clean it up? Will it cause any damage?

Neutralize the acid ASAP and clean it up.
