get a tranny cooler and when you change the tranny fluid, never get it flushed, always do drain and fills.

Why do you say never get it flushed? Reason I'm asking cause I just went to the honda dealership today and asked for a price on a flush and fill. They said $200 dollars and I was like
:wtf:. I also went to local transmission shops and they don't even do flush & fills:thinking:. I went over the 100k mileage mark and now my transmission rumbles/vibrates when I accelerate from a sudden stop. Must be an american made tranny . I already did three drain & fills with honda ATF to no avail. I guess I'll just sit back and wait for her to blow.

i've heard that flushing can move around some of the metal filings in the tranny and can actually mess shit up.

exactly ... there's all sorts of metalic shavings and grit in the tranny that settled towards the bottom of the pan. when you get your tranny completely flushed, some of crap gets washed back into the transmission. the suggested way to do a complete fluid change is to drain 3 quarts, fill 3 quarts, and do it again in 100 miles.

how often should you do that...and what about the popping it into neutral...so whas the pt of a power flush by dealer or some other company...can't be that bad if the dealer does it...otherwise they'd get a lot of complaints and junk...maybe they do it diff?...hey carta...don't u have a 6th gen...how the heck u reach 100k already...u driving coast to coast or something

I didn't buy the car brand new, when I purchased the car it had 30K on it. Also I live in CT and was messin with women from NY and others from Jersey. It's not that hard to rack up the mileage when you continually drive like this. Should have taken the train I know; but I hate being on foot.
Driving a lowered accord in NY City  that's why I never went with a body kit. In the end my car was more important.
I don't baby my car like most, I brought the car to drive it & have fun with it.

For your information, the transmission in 6th gen V6 Accords are made in Japan. That's the ironic point why it fails so frequently.

Mechanics at a local honda dealership said my accord was american made.

:dunno:

Said if the VIN begins with 1 then it was made in the US! They probably were giving me :bs:. I don't know these things!

Thx for the info guys, guess I'll save myself $200 and continue to flush & fill. Maybe I'll get lucky and the problem will correct itself.
