well the way you're supposed to do it is apply a little vaseline or vicks vaporub on the lettering so the paint wont stick on them but i had neither in my house so i had to use a beer bottle wrapped in sandpapper to sand the paint off the lettering.

Good color choice! What kind of paint did you use? Did you replace all the gaskets while the cover was off?

When I did mine, I sanded the lettering first to polish it, then applied some liquid mask to them, painted it, then peeled off the liquid mask. Came out perfect:thumbup:

there you go.... i like it a lot...

i have a stupid question... are there any precatins you should take when removing the valve cover? i've never done internals before and wouldn't want anything to pop out on me or something...
