How To Remove Your Resonator
Ok I was asking this question over and over, and no one could really tell me what i needed to know, so i am writing this, cuz i am still seeing others asking how to do it.
These are for 5th gen accords (94-97)
Now some say that it make it easyer if you take off your front bumper and/or jack yuor car up, i did neither and did this in about an hour.
1. turn your wheels all the way to the right (exposing the front section of the fender-wall on the right-front wheel)
2. get a phillips and a flat-head screwdriver, see all of the screws in your fenderwall, undo all of the ones you can see from about the middle forward, unsrew them with the phillips, and then pry them out with the flathead, and if they dont want to unscrew, pry um out lol
3. There are 2 kinda hidden ones that you need to get, one, that you may already have seen is a screw that attacheds your fenderwall and front bumper to the side of the car, it is right where the top of your front bumper comes into contact with your wheel.
The other one is up front, your fenderwall runs under the car, to the front, on the outside of this (outside meaning towards the edge of your car) there is a bolt you have to undo.
4. Work your fenderwall out and down
5. Now you will be able to see the resonator, it has a rubber thing attaching itself to the bottom of your air filter, and another plastic tube that runs up to that weird thing up near your battery.
5. There are 2 bolts holding it in, thay er both gold, and screw in for a long ways, get somthing to undo them with and undo them, one is really easy to see, attaching it to the back of your fender, in the wheel-well, the other is up on the other side (front side of the car)
6. Once those are both out you can remove your resonator, it will not be easy to pull out because the plastic tube is to big for the hole, so gently work it off your filterbox, then put all your weight on it till it pops out (you may want to remove that thing that is up near your battery, it just pulls out streat up.
THATS IT, YOUR DONE, now if you dont want it anymore, throw it REALLY hard.
put your car back together and your done. You may want to wash out the area in there, mine was really dirty, and now since your air is going to be sucked from in there might well keep it out of your filter as much as you can.
