I think I have a ring / pinion gear problem, help!
Did several searches online and this is what it boils down too, I replaced my passenger side axle because of this sound and a torn cv boot, I thought it would fix the problem but it didnt.
Its a tinny metalic clinking that sounds like small peices of metal moving in a soda can, The sound is always random between the speeds of 30-60. I can go a mile with it silent but maybe a turn or some bumps, or even continual straight driving and its clinking around.
Anyway, Im wondering if anyone has an experiance in this with there Honda, or knows anything about this part of the transmission that could tell me how deep in shit I am. Which I think is a lot cause this is a major part of the tranny and located dead center in the case i beleive. Anywho, anything you can let me know would be appreciated.
btw, I did take it to honda for inspection underneather there is nothing visually or mechanically wrong with the brakes, or suspension, and the heat and dust sheilds are all intact and dont rub.
