Default Big heavy metal rolling pin thing???

I just recently did DIY black housings and corners, when i took my bumper off and the support under it, i noticed a big metal rusty rolling pin shaped thing. I am just wondering what this thing is and what is its funtion. I did a search for big metal rolling pins, but came up empty

i know what your talking about, isnt it on the back of the bumper support. my best guess is its to absorb a shock or protect more somhow in a wreck. just dont take it off, cause its prolly there for a reason

Yup, its on the back of the support, its quite the heavy thing too, I have no plans on removing it. I was just curious as to what the thing was. Thanks for the reply.

I've never seen it myself, but it's a bumper beam. To do with front-end collisions :dunno:
