does anyone know how to read 03' coupe VIN...??
i wanna know if the dealer gave me the right VIN....

i just need to know what part of the VIN tells you that the coupe is a V6 6speed....

 

pop ur hood and see if it says 3.0L or V6 or somthing along them lines...

Oh, and does your car have dual pipes in the back? If I recall the i4 only has 1...

BTW I dont think the dealer would try to rip someone an i4 for a v6 because that could get them in some MAJOR trouble if not get them shut down...

 

The numbers after CM8 will indicate which modell

I'm assuming you want this information because you want to run a Carfax before purchasing a used 6spd coupe. You can run the numbers and get a preliminary FREE report that will give you the car's drivetrain information. My advice would be to run the Carfax and then check the VIN personally.

this reminds of the time i went to toyota when shopping for a tacoma.... this foreign salesman is showing me some trucks, and he pops the hood of one and says "this one's a 4cyl model..." and im like "no, its a V6...." and he says, "no its 4cyl ".... im like look at the engine.... i count "1,2,3,4,5,6," it says "3.0 V6" right there....." and he has this really confused look on his face, and totally changes the subject. If you know nothing about cars, then why sell them?

 

are u serious? how can one not know if its a 4cyl or v6?

 

i'm about to purchase a new 6speed coupe from a dealer and the dealer gave me a VIN number and said that the "M" in the VIN states that it's a 6speed manual...
but i saw other coupes at other dealerships that have "M" in the VIN and it's an auto...

i know the 6speed nav is hard to find....just wanna make sure he's not lying...
