it sounds like you're also owed some dough because of that pain. step one is to see a doctor right away to get it documented, also take pictures of any bruising etc. with you're digicam. months down the line, nothing will speak louder during the settlement phase than photograpihc evidence.
and get a good lawyer. if possible, get one that you're friends or family had a good personal experience with. either way definately get recommendations and learn exactly how he is going to get paid (i.e. fee, commission, etc.).

Just be glad youre okay. I recently lost my Impala SS to a falling tree that I was supposed to be underneath that day! Get that lawyer and get everything you can. Throw in some neck pain too, it always helps. Insurance companies and banks run this country and theyre a necessity so screw them for all you can.
