Yesterday, I was driving home on the interstate just jammin' to my cdplayer when all of the sudden my speakers start popping as if they're going to bust. I turned my stereo off, but the weird static noises in the front speakers and popping sounds in the rear speakers continued.

I pulled off to the side of the road and ripped my stereo out of the dash and unplugged everything. When i took the receiver completely out, I noticed that there was a clear liquid all over the back of the receiver where the air vents are located. Im guessing that whatever this liquid was shorted the hell out of my receiver causing the weird speaker noises.

So my question is...wtf was this liquid and where did it come from? The stereo is under my A/C Controls, but I dont know if that would have anything to do with this liquid. Thanks in advance for any info you might have.
