Dyi Neon Light In Trunk!?
Hi,I've been searching at this Forum, but haven't found any DYI Neon Light installation in the trunk.
I have a 1996 Accord Lx ,this is one of my first mods,I just started by the way with clear bumper and corner lens, +rear side markers, blue light bulbs on doors, now I'm on the trunk next will be gauges and maybe climate controls.
I just need some guidance on how to put or hang the neon tube in the trunk, any help will be apreciated,by the way I'm new but I have collecting info on many DYI ,and since I thought you people helped me a lot just by doing some search, why not ask these helpfull people for help!?
so hope you guys help ,me

go to home depot and pick up some 5lb-double sided stick mounting tape. it's made by 3M. anyway, you can use that to mount your neon bars so you won't have to drill it into your car. one of my neons are drilled into the car, but that's only because it's in a place where it's all carpeting and nowhere to tie to (the one behind the seat).
now if you want to put your neon bar at the top, or if you want to put your neon bar inside with your seat down (or to light up the footwells), that's up to you...heck, you can put black stickers over the bar and tint it, so it's a big piece of black when it's off and when it turns on it says whatever you want it to say...

to wire it in, you should use a fuse connected to the battery and/or to the ignition. that way it only turns on when your key is in. otherwise, just use a switch, or include a switch into that setup. mine is battery>fuse>ignition>switch so that way it all works in. and sorry, but dont ask me about the location of the ignition wire because i don't have any pictures of it.

hey JonHsiung
Just to male sure I understand what you;re saying ok,
buy that mounting tape and wrape the neon tube around so that it can be mounted where i want,right?!....
about wiring,I thought I could use the existing wiring(the stock bulb wiring)
for what my logic says,If I mount that neon light to the existing wiring in the trunk,it will turn on whenever I pop up the trunk from inside the car or with the remote ,right?
Do I have to use a fuse or switch to make it work ans safe anyway,I mean I don't wan to burn any wiring if the neon it has more volt or watts than the stock light bulb.
nice work on your neon,I like the stickers on it,and defenitly I'll go with blue too.
Thanks for your help
JonHsiung
and anybody else if can give more advice
