Default 03 overheating! help

I'm pretty pissed that this is my first post. We bought the wifey a 03 Accord Coupe EX (4cyl) with 7 miles on it last week. The day after we get it home it is overheating. So, bought it on a Friday and Monday it is back in to the dealer. It would start getting hot in all conditions, hot outside, cold outside, AC on AC off, in town, highway, everything.

So the dealer has had it for 3 days now (no parts are in stock) and first they replaced the thermostat, now the water pump.

Has anyone else had any problems with their 03's overheating? WTF!?

Thanks

No luck with the thermostat or water pump. Dealer is keeping it for the long weekend. They have been talking to Honda America about it, but it isn't looking good. They are just shooting in the dark.

Wow. No I've never heard of a situation like this with a brand new car - particularly a Honda.

never heard that from a honda in the last 12 years. good luck with it. i'm sure they'll fix or replace it since it's brand new.

Man, I am hearing some not too good things about the new Accords. From this overheating to people's CD's getting stuck in a dead radio to headliner rattles. On cars less than 6 months old. I'd expect this from GM, but Honda? I do understand that these don't represent the majority of Accord owners, though it is a bit discouraging.

Yeah, I'm pretty pissed about it, it only has 100 miles on the car and less than a day old when it started. But, the dealership is communicating with me and have referred it to honda america and they are doing what they can. So at least the are being cool so far.

I've had my car since Nov 2002 and driven it for over 22,000 miles. I'm fortunate to say that there has been nothing wrong with my 03 4-banger. I hear some rubber rubbing against each other every so often on the door...creating a "tick-tick" sound...but that doesn't bother me considering that my previous car was a Chevy and this is my first Honda.

I live in FL and no problem with temp on my accord and it will be 90 out side with me doing 100 with ac on and my car still dont get hot, just the tires, ehe

Anyway you people saying that you hear a lot of problems with 7th gen, well EVERY year no matter if its a new GEN or not their are going to be minor problems with cars, factorys are not 100% perfect.

I for one have NO problems with my 03 sedan, and it has 3k miles on it almost and is about 4 months old. I have yet had 1 single problem, nor has my mom who got one 1 week after me. So we both got great cars with no problems. I guess its just normal problems that every car can have.

As far as major problems like car overheating, those must just be them one our of a few 1000 cars that dont make it, but hey, I have yet to have problems and with the way I hear other hondas are I dont expect to see any...

I can see myself driving this car in 5 years with a few 100k miles on it and be just fine...

but dont judge the car by problems people have because not everyone has the problems... You dont know how the dealers treat the cars when they get them or how they are treated during transpor to the dealers...

i dont think that has any relevance.... because i dont think you can do much during transportation to make the car start overheating continuously.
