Default A/C Issue

A/C stopped getting cold after temp knob got jammed. After pulling off the knob, I noticed a small piece of the inner part had bkroken off and temp knob cannot turn either way smoothly. Did my best to get it to the blue (cold) side, A/C comp still turns on but no cold air. A friend told me the heater cable is stuck.
Can anyone confirm this is the reason? A/C was running great b4 the knob issue.
Thanks

The cable could be pinched but it's more likely that your heater valve is stuck open an won't let the cable move. Pop the hood and see if you can manually rotate the arm on the heater valve. It's on the passengers side up by the firewall next to the EVAP cannister.
