Default Chrome rims for 7th Gen Accord

Hey everybody, I'm new!

...anyway... I just bought a 2003 Black Accord Coupe EX V6 with the full Aero-kit (I'll post a pic later for you guys). I already added the Eibach ProKit springs to annihilate the truly huge fender-gaps. And I plan on adding foglights, rear decklid spoiler, and some nice chrome rims soon so I wanted to get your advice.

I tend to like the classic racing "mesh" style rims but I don't think they look as good on a modern looking car like mine. At least not as good as they would on a more classic style car like say...an M3. I have the stock 16" 7 spoke ones on there now and that style looks pretty cool. But anyway, take a look at these rims and tell me what you think (18" & Chrome is a given):

ACE Arius

ACE Manta

ACE Lola2

So what'ya think? Lemme know with some comments & personal experience. Have you guys ever bent a rim before? The Mantas look like they might be alittle soft.

Best,

w

dboy,

chrome can look bad if it's done poorly or if it doesn't fit the wheel design... *cough* corvette! *cough*... but in general how can you not like chrome? pictures don't do it justice, you have to see it live to perceive the unreal depth of reflection that chrome provides.

accordfreak93,

I'm not dead set on Ace, I'm just looking for a nice wheel. I love BBS but they don't have many applications for my car because they insist on being so german. the only 18" they even make for a 7th gen accord is the hyperblack RG-R from BBS japan and it's $525(!!!) per wheel.

ACE has the best looking wheels I've seen out there because they tend to be conservative. I think the best wheels are usual stock BMW wheels and ACE wheels usually look like that. The lola2's, for instance, look just like the new infiniti g35 coupe wheels that I love.

But if you have other suggestions, by all means post a link/pic. But keep in mind that the ACE wheels are between $340-$380 in chrome so I'd like to stay at or below that range.

I already said: "I'm not dead set on Ace,"

they just happen to make some wheels I like. If you guys have better suggestions for brands or specific wheels then by all means post away.

But keep in mind that I think the fitment for the '03 coupe is different than last year's and seems to be different than every other car so there really aren't alot of choices yet. I think the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with a ~35mm offset, and that seems to be relatively rare for some reason.

I totally agree... I'm not hating on chrome, I'm sporting chrome on my 61VW but that's not the look that I wanted for my 03AV6. It's all one's preference...

Don't forget to post pics when you get them

leebog,

Yeah, for standard spokey rims, 7 is always the best, even numbers always look too symetrical and 5 stars are so open they have a really different look. but I'm not worried about the new ones looking too similar because 18 chrome will look way different than the stock 7 spokers.

I like the lola's because they look like the stock infiniti g35 18" wheels pictured here:

dboy,

yeah, I get you're drift. Chrome has it's own look and costs alot. I think on the right wheel I can make it work though. and don't worry, pictures are a definate once I finally pick some out. the problem is, who knows how long it will take. I'm sooo picky.
