Is it ok to just full the dent up with touch up paint, smooth (maybe fine sand) up the area, wash, clay than apply some quality wax???

if it's truly a dent, you'll never beable to get the touchup paint to fill it in, it'll never hold. you can use a small amount of bondo to fill it, then sand, then touch up, but you might end up making it worse.
