Default Turbo Question???

When you put a turbo in your cars, so do you have to register your car/cars again?Because we in Finland have to first do a exhaust"fume" test that the car is ok, and this costs about little over 1000dollars and then the istallation and buying the turbo and then register the car again. Is it this hard/expensive to put a turbo in your car in America?Sorry, my writing may not be the best

Many parts of the US don't require any inspections or tests at all. Just proof of ownership. Those places it's easy. Just install the turbo.

Some places inspect the car only for safety equipment. They're looking for holes in the body or missing seatbelts.

Some places measure the exhaust. I don't live there, so I don't know the details.
