Do aftermarket companies pay any sort of royalties to Honda? Sheesh, Honda America dumps the bland version of the Hondas on us Americans, then we pay oodles of cash on accessorries to make it look JDM.

Difference in market. Japanese people actually "USDM" their cars by buying American parts. Anything different is better if you're talking about Accords, as they're so common.

The "bland" versions we get are bigger, more powerful and roomier (the three things that Americans buy cars based on) than their Japanese counterparts, which helps them to sell far better. Plus we can sharpen and rebadge the smaller and sportier Japanese Accord as an Acura

Default 98CoupV6 - that's old mag...

98CoupV6,

thnx for the picture of the current NSX type R, but the June 10 issue of the Bestcar mag has what I am talking about...

it's not what you shown. If you can get that issue, pls post it...
I cannot buy it bcos the July came out when I went back to the book store.

no harm done...

I will stick with my story...and we will see. The picture I saw, the NSX has no hood thing, and no spoil that the one on your picture.
it only show the side view.

Oh, the Nissan GT-R is very much like the one shown at Tokyo autoshow 2 yrs ago...the silver one, if anyone remember.

On this topic of JDM Accords, I thought I might ask a few questions. Why does the US get different accords than the rest of the world, and why do we get the real Accord badged as a TSX?

I'm assuming it has something to do with Honda competing with Toyota. The Accord (TSX) is a MUCH smaller car than the US Camry (is there a different Camry in Japan/Europe, if one exists at all there?).

Actually, Japan and Europe are the only countries to get the "TSX." Australia does too. But most Asian countries get our Accord.

The 5th gen Accord, which was about the size of the TSX, sold horribly because it was too small and too underpowered for US consumers. American consumers want size, power, and comfort. The US Accord is a lot bigger than the TSX and can accomodate a V6 engine, something the TSX cannot.

The picture I posted is from the 6/10 issue of BestCar magazine. Once again, you read a speculative magazine with photoshops and drawings. Sometimes they are close to right, sometimes they are dead wrong. I doubt they are close to right on this, as it's clearly an "enhanced" photo of an NSX Type-R.

You may notice the '6/10' on the cover.
