Hey guys i was just sitting here wondering what would happen if i took that metal thing in the front of the engine with the cuation hot sign on it off ...... would it look cool and would it be a bad thing to do sorry if its a dumb question but whatever

 

Are you talking about the radiator with the sticker?

Oh alright, you mean the heat shield? A flimsy piece of metal covering your headers? I removed mine from around my CAT since it was rattling and falling off. All removing it will do is make the engine components around that are slightly warmer, but odds are if you are talking about the heat shield, nothing bad will happen. I know a lot of people do paint them.....just another thought.

 

i painted it already and also removed the one from my cat do to rattling but i wanna know if it would look cool with the headers exposed

 

no it will look ugly, unless you paint them with a high temp paint. even still the heat sheild reduces the heat transfer to the engine bay.

 

get some aftermarket headers since they dont require the use of the factory heat shield

 

From experience, my friend had a civic and we took the heat shield off and it is a ugly cast iron brownish reddish color. Even painting them won't help. Go with DC headers...only $304.00 at doctorimport.com
