Default 2003 accord dashboard squeak

has anyone noticed this very annoying squeak located near the driver side on the dash? i think its somewhere near the tweeter area, but it feels like something isnt fastened on tightly. everytime i drive over even a small bump, the location will sqeak and it's annoying as hell. is it just mine or has anyone else noticed this?

i just began to notice it when i started cruising without the stereo on so loud.

any tsb's on this problem?

thanks

I had that squeak happen to me two diff times when I first got the car, and it went away...thankfully. If it squeaks all the time, take to dealer.

I just took mine in for a similar problem, but it was coming from the center console with the closable door where the CD's go. They ordered me the whole new console box which should be here next week. The sound I was getting is similar to that of a styrofoam cooler rubbing agianst something else.

Default Fix For Center Console Squeak

Symptom: Jiggling, squeaking, high-pitched sound that occurs when the vehicle is in motion. Kind of like rubber on steel or plastic or some other squeaky material.

Cause: It took me 4 months to figure out this flaw in an otherwise nice car (the other was warping of front brake discs--both shortcomings are minor). If this is what you're hearing, check the console at the gear selector. Specifically, check where the console comes into contact with the plastic P-R-N-D piece of plastic. Press and move the 1" silver edge (left or right) a few times and you should be able to replicate this noise. Flexing of the vehicle's frame produces this noise when the silver console and P-R-N-D piece of plastic rub against each other.

Treatment: Add one drop of lubricant where the console and P-R-N-D piece of plastic come in contact. That is all. Just don't use too much lubricant or you may see gook build-up in several weeks. I used dry bicycle lubricant.

i had a similar roblem when i first drove my 04 accord out the lot. i have this annoying squeak from the passenger's side. at first i thought it was the glove compartment door but after two days of close observations, i realized the passenger's visor was not fully fastened. i solved the problem by pushing it back into the hook, apparently the metal rod was vibrating against the hook. :lmfao: :eek3:
